X-rays are crucial for getting a look between teeth and beneath the visible surface of your teeth, where decay may be slowly taking hold. Most patients should have X-rays taken annually. All new patients should have X-rays at their first exam at Distinctive Dentistry!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Step Three: Exam<\/span><\/h2>\n

After we have cleaned your teeth and taken any necessary X-rays, it is time for the examination portion of your appointment. <\/span>Your teeth will be carefully examined and the doctor will view your\u00a0 <\/span>X-rays to catch any existing oral health <\/span>issues, like cavities, malfunctioning dental work, evidence of nighttime teeth grinding, and even oral cancer<\/span><\/a>. If we do detect these or other issues, we\u2019ll put together a plan for restorative treatment to help you enjoy full smile health again soon. <\/span><\/p>\n

At any point during the appointment, your dentist and dental hygienist will also take the time to provide important education based on the specifics of your oral health. Are there areas where you could be brushing better? Should you be wearing a nightguard for teeth grinding? Step Four: Fluoride, Dental Sealants<\/span><\/h2>\n
